Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
Being more mindful, or observant, in life has many positive effects . It helps in everyday life, but also in dealing with difficult situations, experiences and pain. During this Mindfulness (MBSR) course you will work on exercises that provide insights into how your mind works, so that you can live life with more peace, balance and pleasure. We discuss theory that helps you better understand experiences. It is experience based learning, talking about it is secondary. You will also receive a workbook with additional information and home assignments, plus weekly audio files of the exercises to do at home.

What 's the Metta is registered with the VMBN and Mindfulness Register. This MBSR course is (partially) reimbursed by some health insurances. See Zorgwijzer for more information about this. Some employers reimburse it from a personal development budget. The costs may be deductible for self-employed persons .

As a mindfulness trainer and coach based on positive psychology, I like to work with anyone who is open to something new and has the motivation to get started. Positive psychology and mindfulness are in harmony and reinforce each other.
For a client I am a listening conversation partner, empathetic, down-to-earth, non-judgmental and willing to be clear, so that we can get to the core together.

With What's the Metta I support individuals, teams, organizations and companies in (personal) development processes, where well-being, happiness and meaning are central.
Metta is a Pali word and means (warm hearted) kindness.

With more than 25 years of work experience, including 15 years self-employed in marketing and publicity for international clients such as The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros Entertainment and Viacom, I am an expert in the continuous process of finding a balance between work - life - health. As well as dealing with performance pressure, stress and the challenges, pitfalls and successes that come with it. The common thread in my professional life is: communication, creativity, entrepreneurship, teamwork, goal and results orientation, perspective and humor. I have been practicing meditation and mindfulness since 2009, and coaching programs have also enriched my own personal development.
My roots are in the United States and the Netherlands. Nowadays I work in Amsterdam and the Frisian Gaasterland, where I also live with my husband and dog. I am bilingual (American) English-Dutch.
